The Mountain Racer is a highly developed running waist pack built around carrying a substantial load securely without resorting to a vest. Its tubular step-in construction and shaped ErgoFit waist can be worn higher around the waist or lower towards the hips according to preference, while its 3-litre capacity is distributed around the body through a combination of storage, hydration and external carrying options. Because the Mountain Racer is designed to carry more weight than a minimalist belt, UltrAspire uses an engineered high-rebound stretch mesh to provide controlled stretch without the load moving excessively. Adjustable rear compression is added to pull heavier loads closer to the body, rather than relying on stretch alone for stability.

The large expanding rear compartment carries the included 800ml locking soft flask or comfortably accommodates a 1-litre soft flask, with openings at either end allowing a Bloddle hose configuration for hands-free drinking. Two large side pockets and layered front storage provide further capacity, including a kangaroo pocket that can carry another 800ml soft flask. Removable aluminium Z-pole attachments and front bungee compression provide additional carrying positions for folded poles or a jacket.

Sizing & Fit

The Mountain Racer has a tubular step-in construction rather than an adjustable buckle or clip. Step into the belt and pull it into position. Some runners prefer a waist pack higher around the waist, while others wear it lower towards the hips, and the Mountain Racer's ErgoFit shape is narrower at the top and wider towards the hips to accommodate this.

Choose the size according to where you intend to wear the pack and your measurement at that position. The engineered stretch mesh provides some flexibility in fit, while the separate rear compression adjustment is used to stabilise heavier loads rather than simply tightening the belt.
