Description

Ultimate Direction Ultra Vesta 6.0
10.1 litres · 227g · Water-resistant clamshell storage

The Ultimate Direction Ultra Vesta 6.0 is a women's-specific 10.1 litre race vest combining lightweight 227g construction with water-resistant rear storage and a wide 270-degree clamshell opening for organising and accessing kit. Its capacity provides useful room for mandatory equipment, hydration, food and additional layers without moving into the volume of a larger fastpack.

A narrower cut through the shoulder straps and back provides a more tailored fit for smaller frames than the Ultimate Direction Ultra Vest 6.0. Comfort Cinch 3.0 provides on-the-move adjustment around the lower ribs, while the wraparound construction and protective air mesh help create a close, stable fit. Two Body Bottle 500 soft flasks are included, the dedicated rear compartment accommodates a reservoir up to 2 litres, and configurable attachments allow trekking poles to be carried at the front or rear.

Features
  • 10.1 litre capacity: Space for mandatory kit, hydration, food, spare clothing and other equipment for long-distance running.
  • Lightweight construction: Approximately 227g without soft flasks.
  • Women's-specific fit: Narrower shoulder straps and back provide a more tailored fit for smaller frames than the Ultra Vest 6.0.
  • Comfort Cinch 3.0: High Molecular Weight Polyethylene cord and air mesh provide on-the-move lower-rib adjustment.
  • Wraparound fit: Construction wraps around the torso for a close vest-like fit.
  • Protective air mesh: Provides ventilation and helps reduce rubbing over long distances.
  • 2x Body Bottle 500 included: Two 500ml soft flasks are supplied as standard.
  • Up to 2 litre reservoir compatible: Dedicated rear compartment accommodates a reservoir up to 2 litres. Reservoir not included.
  • Six front storage pockets: Provide accessible storage for hydration, food and valuables.
  • Water-resistant phone pocket: Zipped front chest pocket accommodates a large smartphone.
  • Shoulder stash pocket: Water-resistant quick-access storage for small items.
  • Water-resistant main storage: Large rear compartment uses a 270-degree zipped clamshell opening for easier access to carried equipment.
  • Accessible rear lateral storage: Two zipped side pockets can be reached while wearing the vest; one includes a key clip.
  • Stretch rear storage: Open-top stretch mesh pocket provides additional space for a jacket or other equipment.
  • External bungee system: Provides compression and additional carrying options at the rear.
  • Configurable trekking-pole carry: Four removable hooks and bungee loops can be positioned at the front or rear.
  • Adjustable sternum straps: Front buckle straps use T-hook adjustment.
  • Breathable rear panel: Water-resistant rear construction remains ventilated.
  • Safety whistle: Integrated for race and emergency use.
  • Reflective detailing: Front and rear reflectivity improves visibility in low light.

Sizing & Fit

Ultimate Direction sizes the Ultra Vesta 6.0 around the lower ribs. Its narrower shoulder straps and back provide a more tailored fit for smaller frames than the Ultra Vest 6.0.

Small: Lower ribs 54–91cm / 21–36in
Medium: Lower ribs 61–101cm / 24–40in
Large: Lower ribs 71–106cm / 28–42in
X-Large: Lower ribs 97–116cm / 38–46in

Measure around the lower ribs while wearing the clothing you intend to run in. A loaded vest will fit differently from an empty one, so final adjustment should be made with the hydration and equipment you expect to carry.

4 of 5 Perfect vest October 16, 2025
Reviewer: KL
I needed a bigger size of an ultimate direction vest. It fits perfect. Much space the only thing I have to decline, is that there's no fix point for the quincer anymore. You have to be creative, but it works.

4 of 5 some pockets hard to reach September 20, 2023
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Brighton, East Sussex United Kingdom

I haven't quite mastered reaching the pockets on back of the hydration pack without taking an arm out of the my pack. But this is par for the course with hydration packs. I do, however like the the new pack and the waterproof phone pocket. I will continue to use a Ziploc bag for my phone as the zip is not waterproof.
