Ultimate Direction Waist Belt : UTILITY BELT

Sleek but durable; light weight at just 64 grams yet packed with four storage pockets securely on the inside of the belt, the UD Utility Belt can easily carry any size phone, a 500ml soft flask, a pair of collapsible trekking poles, a waterproof jacket, and other small valuables, with no bounce. Tubular-construction with a rugged stretch-mesh material, five different sizes are available, giving an accurate fit for any body type. The ideal belt for daily training runs or as a minimalist alternative to a race vest or handheld bottle. Reflective logos for high visibility in the dark from the front and rear.

Great way of carrying minimal supplies	November 12, 2021

I wanted something for a trail marathon where I could carry water and gels but didn't want a full race vest.
The belt does a great job at carrying these without feeling uncomfortable or bouncy (I measured for size first - do it round your hips). I wish I'd practiced getting stuff in and out in training more as it is a bit fiddly and everything flew out within 100m of the race!
However that didn't happen on the second race I used it for.
This is now my go to for long training runs and races below and ultra.
Note that the lettering on the back came off after the first use - not that it makes any difference to the use of the belt

I could barely get it around my waist as it was so tight, despite ordering the correct size. Literally nothing I could get in any pocket felt comfortable.

I tried to insert a full salomon soft flask in to the largest pocket - it was like slapstick comedy, every time I tried to manoeuvre the flask it would squirt out water everywhere. Presumably I need a soft flask that has some kind of special lid.
I'm sort of fascinated about who could possibly find this useful, and how it got to market.

I would have sent this back out of principle but after you've given the product a fair shot it does look worn. I tried offering it to my daughter who has a smaller waist than me and she actually managed to wear it for a run. However she had to take it off mid run because it was uncomfortable and not doing a good job of holding her gear. Disappointing.

I already owned a FlipBelt, but wanted to try something else. This scores better on breathability/drying time, access to pockets, additional straps to hold a waterproof etc. It did have a tendency to slip around the waist (not up or down) depending on balance of load, and I’d like to see UD add rubberised non-slip strips on the inside (similar to those on the external straps). But aside from that it performs admirably and unobtrusively with a phone, soft flask, snacks, etc.
