The AK Race Vest from UD is by far the smartest composition of garment I’ve seen. No compromises. (I’ve also bought two sizes of the SJ Ultra Vest, one medium for summer, and one large for longer winter days adventures with lots of clothes. The SJ Vest is not able to expand in diameter to fit a larger chest with winter clothing as the AK Vest is with the side strips. But of course, they are in deed for different purposes.) But I find it interesting how much the AK Vest forces one to minimize the packing to the limit. The AK Vest wipes most competition off the track I think, and actually uses my old UltraAspire bladder with ease together with both chest bottles and lots of snacks for longer runs with eternities between water stations. One of the most important aspects with all of the UD Vests are the ability to fit perfectly even how much of junk you stuff them with. Ultimate by all means. Enough said.
