Description

Ultimate Direction Body Bottle 500 S Soft Flask with Straw
500ml · ~10cm drinking straw · ~42g

A 500ml running soft flask with a short drinking straw, allowing easier access to the bite valve while the flask remains in a race vest or running backpack pocket. The raised drinking position is particularly useful where the flask sits below comfortable drinking height or where you prefer not to remove it each time you drink.

The flexible body conforms to the shape of the pocket and compresses as you drink. Excess air can be removed before running to help reduce fluid movement and sloshing, while the 42mm wide opening makes refilling and adding ice or drink mix easier. The high-flow bite valve provides easy drinking through the straw.

For the same 500ml capacity without a straw, choose the Ultimate Direction Body Bottle 500 Soft Flask. The Ultimate Direction Softflask Straw is also available separately as a replacement or conversion lid and straw.

Features
  • 500ml capacity: suitable for carrying hydration while running.
  • 42mm wide opening: easier filling with water, ice and drink mixes.
  • Short drinking straw: raises the bite valve above the flask for easier access from a vest or backpack pocket.
  • Flexible body: conforms to the body and carrying pocket.
  • Collapsible construction: shrinks as the contents are consumed and packs down small when empty.
  • Reduced sloshing: excess air can be removed before running to help limit fluid movement.
  • High-flow bite valve: provides easy drinking and auto-seals after each sip.
  • Clear flask body: makes it easy to see the remaining fluid level.
  • BPA free.
  • PVC free.

Use & Care

The short drinking straw is useful where the flask sits below comfortable drinking height in a vest or pack pocket. It provides access to the bite valve without repeatedly removing and replacing the flask, while retaining the collapsible behaviour of a conventional soft flask.

Remove excess air before running if you want to minimise fluid movement and sloshing as the flask empties.

3 of 5 Very good with one big flaw Thursday, October 10, 2024
Reviewer: Linda from Cape Town
Bought these to replace my old ultimate direction bottles, which I love. The new bottles have a good flow rate and fits okay in my vest.
The big flaw is that I really struggle to put the caps on. Not sure if I'm missing something obvious, but I never even thought about opening/closing the old bottles, I could do it on the run.
I also sometimes struggle to open the new bottles, because the caps are smaller and smoother than the old ones.
During my last race I had to ask someone at an aid station to open one of the bottles, and I spilt a good portion of my water on the way out trying to close the bottles.

4 of 5 High quality flasks with straw Monday, July 24, 2023
Reviewer: Dimitrios Frydas from Serres, Central Macedonia Greece
It's a high flask flask with straw. Good water rate supply. No plastic taste at all.
I put 4 stars because the flasks do not fit correctly in my Mountain Vest (it is an older version). I put a piece of an elastic lace, like a ring, around the straw and the vest to secure the top of the flask from moving.
