Great advice to help me choose the right shoes. First time with Hokas and they fit great. Tested them properly a couple of weeks ago and are just right for what I was after. Thanks!

5 of 5 Hoka Challenger ATR 2 January 26, 2017
Reviewer: Philip Guest from Whatstandwell, Derbyshire, United Kingdom
Having owned a pair of Hoka Mafate in the early days and quite liking them but thinking 'I wish they were lighter' I bit the bullet and bought a pair of Challenger ATR 2's.
My go to shoes are generally Salomon S Lab Ultras, so these were a bit of a departure. I can only say that I really like the way Hoka have gone, lightweight, comfy out of the box and they suit me very well. I know there a few folks who say they wear quickly but for myself on long runs out on the trails they are ideal and I  would happily replace them for the comfort they supply.
Bring on the first Ultra of the year!
Currently cancelled due to chest infection, typical!
Good luck to all the runners on Saturday at Hobo Pace Waterways 30.

5 of 5 Very comfy but limited grip December 18, 2016
Reviewer: Derek Paton from EDINBURGH, Edinburgh United Kingdom
The Challenger ATRs are great trail shoes and fit my wide-ish feet really well.  However, they are not super grippy and care is needed on polished rock and grassy slopes where the grass is short. I'm not marking them down for this they're superb otherwise.  I've run 35 miles in these and my feet have been pretty much perfect afterwards!  Another great shoe from Hoka.

5 of 5 Best shoes I've ever bought September 29, 2016
Reviewer: Bradley Wright from Salisbury, Wiltshire United Kingdom
I purchased these to run the Clarendon Marathon (my first marathon and first distance trail) because it has a lot of flint stones and tree roots etc and I found that normal running shoe soles were too thin.  These trail shoes are incredibly light, fit like a glove and protect my 51yr old feet perfectly.  The sizing information on the website helped me correctly choose the size.  Delighted!

4 of 5 Pretty good but not perfect. September 5, 2016
Reviewer: John from Hampshire, United Kingdom
The shoes look great but how about under 'stress'?  Well, having just completed a 75km all terrain event I have to say they did pretty well.  The combination of flat wet rock, forest trails (lots of tree routes) as well as grassy fields, heathland and both gravel and tarmac roads all handled pretty well.  Yes, they did slip in a few places, but then I've not found a shoe that didn't (at least one that didn't sound like you were driving on winter tyres when you walked!).  If I were being picky this is the one thing - I'd like a "deeper tread" than these provide.  But I survived and so did the shoes.  So all round, a pretty successful purchase.
