Straight out of the box!! June 30, 2016 Reviewer: Matthew Melksham from Tiverton, Devon United Kingdom   I have been using the Hoka Cliftons for long road runs and marathons for a while now and my trail trainers had just fallen appart. After a bit of research I chose to go for the Hoka ATR2 as I am going into a trail 50K so wanted something that was cushioned but light, and the run is mostly on the Liberty trail and so should be good terrain for these. As always Ultramarthon shipped the product super quickly and they arrived in time for a B2B weekend. The first run I did in them straight from the box was a 13 mile fairly smooth trail and they just ate it up. There was no issues of rubbing or needing them to bed in, I do always go up 1/2 a size in Hokas. The following day I completed a rather muddy 10 miler and they handled the surface okay but these I would say are not designed for fell running!! On the whole a great first weekend with them and I am sure they will perform for me as long as I get them on the correct terrain. Was this review helpful to you?

Hokas atr2 June 9, 2016 Reviewer: Mark from Southampton   Loved the hokas, but my right foot is slightly wider than the left, therefore I sent them back and was advised by staff that the wider mafate is due out in August. I've tried several different types of hokas and get the same result, staff communication was brilliant at the ultramarathonrunningstore, I will be back online in August. TOO EARLY TO TELL April 11, 2016 Reviewer: SK from Stockport, Cheshire England   Still like them but not sure they are as good a fit as first generation ATR.  Sole compound seems stiffer and your foot is not as much 'in the shoe' as the old model.  Time may wear them in. Hoka CHALLENGER ATR 2 Shoes March 4, 2016 Reviewer: Mauro Furtado from Horta, Portugal   The Challenger ATR 2 is a wonderful evolution to the original with some minor tweaks and changes that don’t hurt the overall experience or ride in the shoe compared to the first version.
