Ultimate Direction Race Belt
1L capacity · 71g · 500ml soft flask included

A lightweight running waist belt with 1 litre of storage and an included Ultimate Direction Body Bottle III 500 soft flask. The low-profile design provides dedicated storage for hydration, a phone, keys and smaller essentials, and can be used on its own or alongside a running vest when extra waist-level storage is useful.

The secure zipped pocket is phone compatible and includes a key clip, while adjustable external bungee cords provide additional carrying points for a jacket or folded running poles. The Flex Mono Mesh waist construction and woven mesh back panel conform closely to the body, with the wrap-style adjustment helping keep the load stable while running. The belt can also accept the Ultimate Direction Adventure Pocket when additional storage is needed.

5 of 5 Total belter! Sunday, August 24, 2025
Reviewer: EUAN INNES from Brechin, Angus United Kingdom
This is a great belt. Very light but able to carry 500ml of water and a phone. I pop in a small clip on light in case I dont feel like stopping when it gets dark!
The velcro fastening is lovely and the belt doesn't bounce at all. In fact I wear mine round the front to help with getting the water in and out. The snap fastener is tricky for the first couple of times but practise makes perfect and soon its really easy.
I can also attach my Buffalo windshirt to the bunjees, just in case the weather changes. Again, practise how you roll up the windshirt to find what works for you.
The new style bottle is also good. The plastic taste wasn't there this time but as I always add a drop of lime juice in to my water, that plastic taste is never really noticable.
All in all, I find it perfect for a couple of hours out on the road or trail.

5 of 5 Still the best running belt Wednesday, April 9, 2025
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Scotland
In 25 years or so of running I never got on with any race belt/pack until the original UD belt. Thanks to the Velcro fastening and super comfortable fabric, it was the only belt I found which didn't bounce, was adjustable on the move and had useable storage.

When I needed a new one, I was glad to see that Ultimate Direction had updated the original, but didn't mess with what made it great.

Honestly, if you've always hated race belts (nylon straps, click buckles etc), give this one a go.. It's great for those runs where all you need to carry is a phone, keys and maybe a gel or two.

1 of 5 really poor product - poor design and quality Tuesday, July 18, 2023
Reviewer: Andy P from London
- after 2x 5km runs the seams were falling apart
- i've done 2 weeks of runs and it's practically useless now and no way of getting my money back
- zip keeps catching
- the press stud is tricky to close whilst running as the tape is so short and you'd need tiny fingers to close it ( no way a man tested this is design process)
- barely holds an iphone +water flask  + gel  + keys - be lucky if we can do anything else
- key pocket does not fit car key ( not everyone can walk to their trail spot)
- key pocket might fit a really small door key but i would trust it - and seriously who has one key these days
- belt velcro has really rough edges that you need to cut away to stop them rubbing
- belt width is really small so it folds over and starts to dig in after +10k

overall - there are better products out there and i wish i'd gone with something else - there's no way this product was tested with genuine runners in mind - terrible quality materials and finish
