GU Energy Gel Caramel Macchiato provides 22g of carbohydrate and 100 calories in a compact, smooth gel. It contains 60mg sodium and 450mg amino acids.

Caramel Macchiato combines a sweet caramel flavour with a mellow, dark coffee flavour and contains 40mg caffeine, making it one of GU's higher-caffeine Original Energy Gel flavours.

Caffeine-free: Raspberry Lemonade, Lemon Sublime, Strawberry Banana and Campfire S'mores.
20mg caffeine: Chocolate Outrage, Vanilla Bean, Mandarin Orange, Tri Berry, Salted Caramel and Salted Watermelon.

Have been attempting to follow many training plans over the last few years, poorly I might add, and always struggled with long runs.

Tried many options of the gels, from many manufacturers. Always struggled with eating them in the latter stages. Some caused stomach issues, some I just could eat near the end.

Stumbled across these at a marathon a few years ago, and used nothing else since. Still struggle with long distance, but now down to loneliness and boredom.

Taken in the run, especially if starting to flag, i really feel the difference when they kick in. No related stomach issues either for me. YMMV.

Found the Ultramarathon running store on Google, other searches probably available, and whilst not the cheapest, did not look like a scam. Some places are cheaper, but ship directly to you from EU, so expect import or VAT /customs duty to bump their prices up.

Brilliant service, delivered quickly and well packaged. Certainly saved on my favourites for next time.

Same review as for Salted Caramel - I loved them both but not other flavours. This was a winner for me. I don't use sugared foods whlst running - I am a real/ homemade food type of person. This however was a delicious treat and certainly gave me a need lift. I tend to consume over about 5km. They do make you thirsty and I definitely felt I needed to take a sip. Last use I did have a bit of an accident - changed water bottles with an open GU in my hand - it squeezed out a little - SO VERY sticky ! I love this one and Salted Caramel. I tried other flavours, but I would pass on others again.
