The Ultimate Direction Ultra Jacket is a lightweight 2.5-layer waterproof running jacket with fully taped seams, an adjustable ventilated hood and integrated Flip Mitts. Its technical waterproof construction meets the type of mandatory jacket requirements specified by many ultra races, although you should always check your event's current kit rules.

The shell has a 30,000mm HH waterproof rating, based on a 30,000mm water entry pressure, together with a 30,000g/m²/24hr moisture vapour transmission rate. Tunnel Effect hood ventilation and Peristaltic underarm vents add dedicated airflow to help manage heat and moisture during prolonged running and higher-effort sections.

At 186g, the Ultra Jacket remains light and compact enough for mandatory race-kit carry and packs into its own interior chest pocket. Integrated Flip Mitts provide additional waterproof hand protection when needed, while reflective detailing and ergonomic shoulder construction add useful features for long periods on the move.

I purchased a jacket for an upcoming Ultra. It was despatched quickly and tracking information was provided. The jacket fits nicely however I am yet to use it in battle so to speak, so I just hope it loves up to its price tag.

With a below zero mountain ultra race coming up that weekend, I ordered a waterproof running jacket to replace my old one in the last minute. Within the hour of buying the jacket, I had received the email to confirm the delivery with the tracking number! After the item arrived I had to order a different size to try on and it also arrived on time before the race. Sameless, efficent, fastest service I've seen.

The jacket was up to expectations as well. Light, waterproof, windproof, with good breathability, well-made,....top marks indeed.
