Two years of heel pain leading to little or no running. So recently tried a friends Hoka Stinsons, for 200 yds on tarmac. This convinced me to buy some as ' a last resort' to try running again. It's now been three weeks of jogging and walking, and whilst I still have a little heel pain in the mornings, it's lovely to be able to get out on the roads and trails again. Just to add, I had already tried every conceivable route to recovery and the only thing that helped previously was not running at all, so I'm well pleased to be doing just a couple of miles at a time now. Hardly ultra running, and a lot slower than previous paced training (68 min half marathon PB) but I'm very pleased with them so far and besides, I'm now approaching V50 so would be happy with a tidy 10k in a few months time maybe :-) In short, expensive shoe, but not as expensive as not being able to run at all.....
